Through performance, interviews, observational footage, and commentary on archival clips, three actors with disabilities currently working in the Hollywood entertainment industry address the authentic representation of disability in the media as well as the ongoing struggle for access and inclusion.

Lifelike is a straightforward minimalist short filmed in an Ohio taxidermy shop that documents the mounting of a deer, from live animal to wall trophy. Filmmaker Erick Stoll doesn't shy away from any of the details of modern taxidermy and manages to answer a host of questions about those life-like animals hanging on the wall; even some questions some of us never thought to ask.

Meh Sha Lin is 17-years old and living in the United States, but for the first 14 years of his life, Meh Sha lived with his family in a small bamboo hut in a refugee camp in Thailand. The Lin family fled the tyranny and oppression of the Burmese government only to find poverty and discrimination in Thailand. Even feeding themselves was a daily struggle. Meh Sha's father was robbed and murdered by other desperate refugees. His older brother remains trapped in the refugee camp. Now in Philadelphia, Meh Sha struggles to console his mother and lead his family as the oldest male.

Mothersbane is a touching personal documentary that explores the filmmaker's ambivalent relationship to his mother's physical disabilities and chronicles his attempts to be at peace with her suffering and disfigurement. Jason Jakaitis' mixed-media portrait, alternates between the present, in which his mother battles a staph infection while preparing for a major surgery, and recollections of the filmmaker's past. The film deftly draws upon a variety of poetic evocations, including Super 8 recreations of childhood memories, to powerfully express the love and anxiety, the protectiveness and dread, that has defined his relationship with his mother.

What started out as an innocent educational display of flags in the school dining room, turns into a mini-firestorm when a Tibetan student requests the Tibetan flag be hung along with all the other flags. When the Tibetan flag is installed, various mainland Chinese students react immediately, finding the act to be offensive. They campaign to have the flag removed and one thing leads to another. Ryu's treatment of the educational, political and emotional issues surrounding Tibet and its relationship to China, as well as the dynamics in the prep school, is handled with intelligence and restraint.
